Determining Your Massage Session Frequency Schedule

Alright well, lets get into it!

Now building massage into your workplace routine depends largely on your massage session goals, your individual current health, and your occupational stress levels.

So we will use these 3 categories as indicators and a range from 1 – 5 to determine your session frequency schedule. But remember this is just an estimate and you will want to confirm with the Massage Therapist what is recommended for you in particular after your first session in the follow-up.

Determine how often to schedule your massage session with these indicators from a scale from 1 to 5

Most Common Massage Session: Every Two Weeks

Ok, so our most common scheduling frequency is every 2 weeks.
We typically see individuals with 1 – 2 sessions goals, such as relief from lower back and shoulder tension. Relatively healthy but have some previous health conditions, 2 – 3, such as: rotator cuff injury years ago, may use medication to control blood pressure and occupational stress levels are at 3 or above, such as: a recent organizational change has brought upon an additional workload for you and tight deadlines on your previous work just add to the stress.

So for a session every 2 weeks that's about:

    - 2 for Session Goals
    - 2 for Health Conditions
    - 3 for Occupational Stress Levels

Again were using a range from 1 – 5.

Determine if bi-weekly massage sessions is the schedule thats right for you with these indicators from a scale from 1 to 5

Weekly or More Massage Sessions

So just as a reference if you scale higher in the range on any one of the indicators, like maybe you may have:

    - 3 or 4 health conditions such as: Arthritis, along with previous injury and medications
    - your session goals is at a 3
    - and your at a 4 or 5 on occupational stress levels --and that may be just because the 4 or 5 people you work with.

You will want to select a more frequent schedule such as weekly or twice a week. Considering the session duration remember you can always select 10, 15, or 30 minute sessions.

Selecting A Monthly Massage Schedule

And lastly you can also choose to build routine massage sessions into your health regimen by selecting a monthly schedule.

Now with a monthly schedule we typically see Guests who have a particular session goal in mind such as: slept wrong and I have this crick in my neck they are pretty healthy, may have a injury long before but on no medications and occupational stress is mild with the occasional micro-management incident from a team member here-and-there.

So that's a:

    - 1 for Session Goals
    - 1 for Health Conditions
    - 2 for Occupational Stress

With that a monthly frequency may be right for you.

Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly Massage Sessions

We typically see 3 common session frequencies:

    - Every 2 weeks
    - Weekly or more
    - and Once a month

and you can estimate this on a range of 1 – 5 regarding:

    - Session Goals
    - Health Conditions, and
    - Occupational Stress Levels

So there it is, a quick and brief way to estimate how often you should schedule a therapeutic massage session in the workplace. But of course you want to confirm this individually with your Massage Therapist after your session in the followup.
